The old Harbour of Spetses called Baltiza is located at a distance of one-and-a-half kilometers way from the New Harbour, known as Dapia. It was an important shipbuilding center during the 18th and 19th century. The shipbuilding industry is still active here today. The natural harbour extending inwards from the Spetses coastline is very beautiful during summer and winter. In summer, it transforms into a busy place full of holiday makers from all counties with their yachts and sailboats, giving the harbour a truly cosmopolitan look.

During winter the harbour has its own charm with colorful small fishing boats languishing in the waters. On the little peninsula here is a lighthouse with an old cannon battery. There is a pretty chapel of the Virgin of the Armada in Mediterranean yellow and white colors located close by overlooking the port. It is picturesquely located and the view of the sunset from the chapel is spectacular. There are many old cannons mounted alongside the port. A bronze statue of the Spetsiote hero Kosmas Babatsis stands majestically overlooking the harbor.
