SAMARIA GORGE: A visit to Crete’s pride and Europe´s longest gorge (16 km). The National Park of Samaria is a nature reserve of great importance offering a plethora of natural features including wild-flowers, century-old trees, impressive rocky formations and crystal-clear springs. You may have the chance to see the wild goat Kri-Kri. Our tour begins early morning. We start walking at a height of 1200 m at Omalos plateau.  During your walk don’t miss the chance to take a picture at the most famous point of the gorge- the famous Iron Gates. The walk lasts approximately 4-5 hours, depending on your pace. A guide is always nearby to ensure your safety. At the end of your walk in the village of Agia Roumeli you will have time for relax on the beach and for a lunch, before boarding the ferry to Chora Sfakion. From here we return to Chania.

Entrance to the Gorge is 5 Euros, and the Boat Fare from Agia Roumeli to Sougia is 10 Euros per person.

NECESSARY EQUIPMENT: proper walking shoes, hat, bottle for water (there are watersprings every 3 km with fresh cold drinking water), small snack, necessary things for the beach.
