Katschberg in Austria is a terrific family resort. It has doorstep skiing, an unspoilt, quiet ski area, a huge array of child-friendly activities and an excellent snow record.
The mountain was almost carved with beginner skiers & boarders in mind. The dedicated nursery slopes will keep learners happy and away from the speedy who will be cruising the miles of uncrowded pistes.
Katschberg has a low-key nightlife scene, with a small selection of cosy restaurants to choose from. These range from very traditional mountain huts that serve up Austrian classics like Germknödel and Jagatee, to more modern menús serving up pizza, pasta and burgers.
There’s also a great choice of popular activities like night skiing and tobogganing, and even horse-drawn sleigh rides.
