The inscription wrote that Araxa joined battle Bubon and Cibyra who captured many citizens in the 2nd century BC. Orthagoras was an ambassador sent to the Lycian Army troops to tell of the situations. He successfully fought with the army troops during the violent revolts in Tlos and Xanthos. He also had the same success during the conflicts between the Lycians and Telmessos. He played an important role in persuading Orloanda, Araxa's neighbour to join the troops. Later Orthagoras continued to meet with the ambassadors sent by Rome. Some ruins of a large structure can be found in Araxa, one of the wall structures is 3 metres in height. Its stones are polygonal and rectangular-shaped and were crafted proficiently. A solid wood wall is seen at its surface overlooking the village on the lower level of its peak. Many Gothic sarcophagi grave covers stand out at the edge of the stream. The writing is not readable but the most interesting ones are dozen of graves that were carved in the rock on the edge of the lower hill on the roadside one mile away from the village.
