Yesterday, Hang Out on Holiday briefly unveiled the wonders of Yosemite National Park in California. Today’s blog builds on this gorgeous scenery, but we present to you the Plitvice Lakes National Park (Plitvicka Jezera) in the Lika region of Croatia.
Founded in 1949, Plitvice Lakes is the largest national park in Croatia and the oldest national park in Southeast Europe. It is comprised of 16 interconnected cascading lakes. These lakes are known for their beautiful colours - ranging from (but not limited to) green to blue.
Naturally, the amazing lakes attract masses of visitors yearly. The lakes have many paths weaving between and around them, which are great for mini adventures around this lovely scenery. In addition to the lakes, the Plitvice Lakes National Park is also home to many rare flora and fauna species.
